Wheat Grass

Wheat - the most consumed cereal in the world, is believed to be the earliest crop ever harvested by humans. It is depicted as a symbol of prosperity and fertility and this reflects in countless rites and rituals throughout the world. In the Bible it is revered as the most important food and even today almost half of all the food that we consume, contains wheat in one form or the other. Wheat is a perfect and ideal food as it is replete with vital nutrients -vitamins (particularly A, B complex, , C, E, Laetrile B 17, minerals (exceptionally high in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium and trace minerals like zinc and selenium) , amino acids, enzymes, lecithin and chlorophyll.

In wheat grass, one of the enzymes - Superoxide Dismutase is of great interest. It is a powerful anti oxidant and acknowledged as an anti cancer factor. Abscisic acid, a plant hormone found in wheat is also shown promising results in warding off cancerous tumours in animals.

Almost three fourths of wheat grass juice is chlorophyll - the green pigment found in plants, which are rich in minerals and proteins. Also called the blood of plant, it is another potent antioxidant that purifies the blood.
